Workshop Tycoon

★★★★☆ 4.1 Editor rating

Workshop Tycoon puts you behind the counter of a small repair shop. Orders come in, you source parts, fix things, and slowly upgrade your tools and space. The loop is simple but oddly addictive, and it all runs offline with saves stored on the device.

The satisfying part is the optimization. Early on you fumble through repairs, but once you learn which upgrades save time, you start running a tight little operation. There's a day-to-day rhythm that makes it great in short sessions on a break.

It does get a bit grindy in the mid-game, and a few menus are clunkier than they need to be. Still, the core fantasy of building up a messy workshop into a well-oiled business is well executed, and we kept coming back to see the next upgrade.
